Dr. Paul Dhillon is a rural Family and Emergency Medicine physician in Sechelt, British Columbia, dedicated to serving his family, community, and country. With a diverse background in medicine, military service, and community & humanitarian involvement he brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
Medical Excellence
Dr. Dhillon completed his medical education at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, demonstrating his commitment to excellence from the start. He specializes in Family and Emergency Medicine, with a focus on providing essential healthcare services to rural communities in Canada. Before settling down on the Sunshine Coast in Sechelt, he worked as a rural locum in Saskatchewan and the Northwest Territories. His experience practicing medicine in small communities resulted in him becoming the editor of "The Surprising Lives of Small-Town Doctors" a book containing many stories of other rural doctors. Dr. Dhillon has also pursued further training in Disaster Medicine and Tropical Medicine, gaining valuable expertise in responding to critical situations.
Entrepreneurship
Dr. Dhillon recently completed an MBA and co-founded a business called "The Review Course in Family Medicine", an educational initiative aimed at enhancing medical knowledge and skills nationwide.
Military Service
Dr. Dhillon proudly serves as a Reservist Medical Officer with 11/12 (British Columbia) Field Ambulance, Canadian Armed Forces. His dedication to his military service has been unwavering. Over the years, he has undergone rigorous training in the UK, Italy, and Canada, specializing in Tropical Medicine and Disaster Medicine. He has held numerous roles within the Canadian Armed Forces, including 39 Brigade Surgeon, Flight Surgeon, and Task Force Surgeon (TAV) on Operation IMPACT in Kuwait, showcasing his leadership and commitment to national security. He has operated both on land, in support of the RCAF, and undersea on HMCS Victoria - one of Canada's hunter-killer submarines.
Community Involvement
Dr. Dhillon is deeply involved in his local community, both as a physician and an educator. From a young age in his hometown of Tsawwassen, BC, he became an avid, lifelong volunteer. He plays a pivotal role in ER and rural Family Medicine, ensuring accessible healthcare for all. As a Rotarian for over two decades and a current member of the Rotary Club of Sunshine Coast, he actively contributes to community development and service.
International Humanitarianism
Dr. Dhillon's humanitarian efforts extend beyond Canadian borders. He volunteered as an Ebola doctor during the West African Ebola Epidemic in Sierra Leone, demonstrating his dedication to global health and a deep interest in global affairs that began with his first degree in Political Science at UBC. He has served as a physician in Antarctica showcasing his commitment to supporting those in need in the most challenging environments.
Lifelong Conservative
Dr. Dhillon started his involvement in conservative politics from a young age when he first met his MP, John Cummins from Delta. He later joined the UBC Conservative Club when he was pursuing his bachelor's degree in political science, and was on the executive of the club. He has been a passionate supporter of the conservative party ever since. After returning to Canada from medical school he attended events in Andrew Scheer's riding in Regina, and then after moving back to BC spent a year on the EDA of his local riding, before concentrating on starting his family.

Dr. Dhillon resides in Sechelt, BC, with his beloved wife, Sarah, whom he met while training in Ireland, as well as their two sons, Darragh and Ruairi (the two wee lads). His devotion to his family mirrors his commitment to his profession and country.
